Carolina Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert is a jack of all trades in the backfield, as he blocks well, runs well, and catches passes out of the backfield well. Tolbert’s versatility has been a nice plus for the Panthers offense, and he’s been an absolute touchdown-maven. The man has caught two TD passes through the air this season, along with four touchdown runs on the ground. If it weren’t for Anthony Sherman’s out-of-this-world blocking for the Kansas City Chiefs, then Tolbert would be the league’s best fullback this season.

According to the Charlotte Observer’s Joe Person, Mike Tolbert is out at practice today due to personal reasons, and it will be interesting to see what the exact situation is. It’s always a fluid situation when a player misses practice due to personal reasons, because that covers a wide-array of subjects, sometimes awful ones (like in the case of Dan Williams earlier this season). Let’s just hope that everything is fine in Tolbert’s personal life, and it could even be a “good” personal reason.

Since it’s just Thursday and the Panthers don’t play until Monday, we have no indication that Tolbert won’t be able to play in the marquee matchup against the New England Patriots. Keep a close eye on news regarding Tolbert but also expect him to be out there on MNF. He has 312 yards from scrimmage this season and is a key role player on the Panthers.
