Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler was sidelined this weekend for Josh McCown against the Baltimore Ravens and the Bears were able to pull off the victory. Cutler will get another week of rest in Week 12 against the St. Louis Rams. Cutler has been resting a groin and ankle injury and McCown has been solid in his absence. The Bears might as well continue to ride the hot hand while their starting quarterback can get back to full health.
McCown threw for 216 yards and a touchdown in the overtime win against the Ravens. He as played in four games this season and has started a couple of games. In both starts, the Bears have pulled off victories and he has yet to throw an interception this year.
There is a little bit of chatter about a quarterback controversy in Chicago, but head coach Mark Trestman is trying to quiet all of that. He has said that Cutler is his starting quarterback multiple times.
The game with the Bears and Rams will feature a couple of backup quarterbacks. McCown will be starting for the Bears and Kellen Clemens will be starting for the Rams.
