Former Oakland Raiders LB Thomas Howard was involved in a car accident on Monday and was one of two individuals that was killed in a high-speed crash. He was in Oakland and an official from the Alameda County Coroner’s office has confirmed it. Howard was only 30 years of age.
Witnesses have told the police that the driver of a gray BMW 750Li sedan was heading north along Highway 880 at more than 100 miles per hour and lost control of the car and then slammed in the back of a semi-truck.
The BMW shot over the median into the southbound lane and then hit a Chevy Monte Carlo and a gray Honda CR-V.
Howard was drafted by the Raiders in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft. He has spent time with the Oakland Raiders, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Atlanta Falcons. He was recently released by the Falcons earlier in the month.
Prayers go out to Thomas Howard and his family and friends. Just sad news out there.
