Oakland Raiders Place CB D.J. Hayden on I.R.

The Oakland Raiders have placed rookie CB D.J. Hayden onto the IR list today. He has been bothered by a groin injury and it will sideline him for the rest of the year. He has been a bit of a disappointment for the Raiders this year. The Raiders had the opportunity to draft Star Lotulelei onto their defensive front, but they decided to add Hayden onto the roster instead.

The Raiders traded out of thier top 3 spot and select D.J. Hayden with the 12th pick in the draft.

Hayden has 26 tackles this season and an interception on his stat line. He will get the whole offseason to rest up and will need to come back strong during training camp next season. The Raiders spent their first round selection on him anf they need to get some production out of that move. It can take corners a little longer to adjust to the NFL, but there isn’t much patrience for players selected in the first round.
