Packers QB Matt Flynn Named Starter On Thursday

The Green Bay Packers are going to go with Matt Flynn as their starting quarterback on Thursday against the Detroit Lions, according to Rob Demovsky. Flynn will be their 4th starter this season.

Aaron Rodgers has been ruled out for the game with his collarbone injury. He wasn’t going to get cleared to play on the short week. Flynn has been getting the reps with the first team.

Scott Tolzien will serve as the backup in the game.

The Packers are in desperate need for a win. They have struggled with Aaron Rodgers sitting on the sideline and they will be looking to Matt Flynn to provide some sort of spark for them this season.

The Packers have not won since week 8 of the NFL season. They are in desperate need for a win. The Packers need to pull off some wins in order to get back into the playoff race. A win against the division rival Lions would be a huge step in getting into the hunt.
