All the coaches will be sticking real close to their sidelines from this point forward. According to Ian Rapoport, Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin was fined $100k from the league for his incident in the game against the Baltimore Ravens in which he interfered with a play by stepping onto the field.

On top of the fine, the Steelers still have a possibility of suffering a draft penalty. The league is waiting for the draft order to settle and then they will figure out what they will do with that penalty. It sounds like a penalty will be happening. All because Tomlin stepped into the action.

That is a big time penalty. $100k already is a ton of dough to come out of his pockets, but now the team has to suffer a penalty for his actions. If Tomlin knew he was going to get penalized that much, he might as well have laid out Jacoby Jones and got his money’s worth on the play. Next time, he should just toss his headset out onto the field and hope that Jones trips over it, that only costs about $50k based off of the fine that Jason Kidd got in the NBA.
