Caridnals Fear Tyrann Mathieu Has Torn ACL

The Arizona Cardinals fear that they have lost defensive back Tyrann Mathieu for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL. Mathieu will undergo an MRI on Monday to see the extent of the injury. He injured the knee on Sunday as he was tackling another rookie Tavon Austin and his leg planted awkwardly. He was taken off of the field on a cart.

Mathieu has had a terrific season and is in the running for defensive rookie of the year. The Cardinals defense has turned around with the help of Mathieu in the backfield. He is a dynamic player on defense and flies around on the field. He will be missed on the defensive side of the football. An ACL injury usually can take a year to heal, so he might be missing some time next season.
