Wes Welker Will Not Play on Thursday

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker will sit out Thursday’s game against the San Diego Chargers, per Jay Glazer. The Chargers are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive and will welcome Welker sitting on the sideline. Welker suffered a concussion on Sunday and will not be cleared in time to play on Thursday.

Peyton Manning will have to make things happen without one of his weapons on offense. He still has Eric Decker, Demayrius Thomas and Julius Thomas to throw the football to. The Chargers secondary has struggled this season though and Demayrius Thomas blew up the last time the two teams met.

Welker should get cleared to play the following week, but the quick turnaround was too quick for him to get the clearance.
