If Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson wants to play some baseball too, then he has the opportunity to do it with the Texas Rangers. The Rangers made their selection in the Rule V Draft and took Russell Wilson away from the Colorado Rockies. It costed the Rangers $12,000 to make the move, but it seems to be more of a publicity stunt by the team. Could Wilson really play some baseball and be the next 2-sport star?
“We talk to our scouts about the makeup we want of our players and the work ethic it takes to win, and Russell Wilson has been an example of that,” (Rangers GM)Daniels said. “He has off-the-charts character and focus.
“We want to be respectful of where he’s at right now. I got a chance to talk to him, and he was excited. We wanted to welcome him to the organization and told him, ‘Don’t be insulted if you don’t hear from us again until you’re done playing because we don’t want to get in the way of what you’ve got going on.'” – ESPN
Wilson has 5 home runs and 19 stolen bases with the Class A team in Colorado. He also struck out 118 times. I think he should stuck to this football thing.
