Ben Tate Out For Remainder of Year with 5th Broken Rib

Ben Tate’s season will come to a close early after he broke his 5th rib this season. Tate broke 4 ribs in week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but played through that game and every other game this season. He re-injured one of those ribs and finally is getting put onto the IR for the rest of the season. That is one tough running back.

“I said all along that he’s a really tough son-of-a-gun,” interim head coach Wade Phillips said. “A lot of guys won’t get shot up for anything.” –

Tate will be a free agent at the end of the season and he auditioned his toughness to the rest of the league. He played through the pain and showed that he can be a reliable back for some team in the future.

Tate finished the season with 771 yards and 4 touchdowns. He will be one of the top running backs available in free agency this season. Some team will get a really tough running back.
