Jake Long Suffers Torn ACL and MCL

Time to call it a season for St. Louis Rams LT Jake Long. Long suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the game this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With Long out, Rodger Saffold shifted over from his guard position over to the left tackle spot. Shelley Smith jumped off of the bench and played left guard for the team. Saffold will likely start at the left tackle spot for the Rams in the season finale against the Seahawks.

With Jake Long’s injury, he could be out for some time going into the next season. Could this possibly change what the Rams will do in the coming draft. With a few good left tackles coming out for the draft, they may want to look at that position in the first round. The Rams own the Washington Redskins pick in the first round and could pick up a few good players for next season.
