Former Oakland Raiders star CB Nnamdi Asomugha has decided to call it quits. He was released earlier in the season by the San Francisco 49ers and he has not been able to catch on with another team since that release.

He was known as one of the best lock down corners in the leagues during his tenure with the Oakland Raiders. Teams didn’t even want to throw the ball in his direction. He was able to land one of the richest deals for a defensive back with the Philadelphia Eagles, but his tenure with the Eagles turned into a massive bust.

When he became a free agent from the Oakland Raiders, there was a massive bidding war for his services and the Eagles emerged as a surprise team to add his talents. The Eagles supposed “dream team” became a massive flop and Asomugha was unable to live up to the dollars on that deal.

Asomugha does not have anything left in the tank and has decided to sign on with his former team, the Oakland Raiders, on a one-day contract so that he can retire as an Oakland Raider.
