The Detroit Lions have expressed interest in Seattle Seahawks OL Coach and former Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable, per Dave Birkett. Cable is considered an elite offensive line coach and he did a decent job with the Oakland Raiders. Not many people can do a decent job with that Oakland frachise.

The Lions are doing some background work on Cable, but have not yet asked for a formal interview with the Seattle coach. In order for the Lions to get a chance at interviewing Cable, they must ask for permission to interview him and he would only be available to interview this week. The next time he would be available is when the Seahawks are eliminated from the playoffs.

The Lions are looking for someone to work with the talent on the roster and take this team to the playoffs. Matt Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush are some of the top players at their positions and the Lions should be looking for a coach to get the most out of those players. Is Cable going to be that guy?
