The Detroit Lions already have Tom Cable on their list of head coaches and they look to add Jim Caldwell onto their list as well, per Mark Maske. That is a pair of offensive minded coaches on their list. Caldwell is coming off of a down year with the Ravens as their offensive coordinator this season, but he has experience as a head coach with the Indianapolis Colts and knows about running an offense through the pass first.

Caldwell took over the Ravens offensive coordinator duties last season and helped revive that offense. They won the Super Bowl behind that big play offense. His offense this season has had its struggles. Losing players like Anquan Boldin and Dennis Pitta did not help him either.

It seems that the Lions are looking at coaches with previous head coaching experience that lean toward the offensive side of the football. With players like Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush, you better find someone who can take advantage of all that talent.

What do Lions fans think of the possibility of Caldwell becoming the head coach?
