The offensive coordinator hunt in Miami can come to a stop, the Miami Dolphins will hire former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback coach Bill Lazor to become the offensive coordinator for the team, per Chris Mortensen. Lazor also had interest from Jim Caldwell for his staff in Detroit.
Lazor received a lot of interest for offensive coordinator positions because of his success in developing Nick Foles with the Philadelphia Eagles. He will be called upon to get Ryan Tannehill to reach his potential. That will be his number 1 priority. If he can get Tannehill to reach his potential than the offense should be alright. The offensive line needs to get him more time and Mike Wallace has to catch the ball when it hits him in the hands. There is a lot of work that needs to be done.
Lazor has previous stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks and he was also the offensive coordinator at Virginia before Chip Kelly took him to Philadelphia. This will be his first opportunity to call plays in the NFL though.
