New Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan loves Washington Redskins backup QB Kirk Cousins, per Chris Mortensen. Shanahan worked with Cousins the last couple of seasons in Washington and knows the type of quarterback he can be. Could Shanahan influence the front office to make a move for Cousins?
The Browns are in desperate need for a quarterback. A quarterback that can take hold of the starting job for more than a season. A franchise quarterback.
Cousins likely will be available in the offseason since the Redskins are going to rely on Robert Griffin III as their starting quarterback. The Redskins are looking for a draft pick as compensation for Cousins and the Browns have a lot of those right now.
If the Browns were to go after Cousins as their starting quarterback, they can use their high first round draft picks for different positions of need. Cousins likely will cost a middle round draft pick and the Browns would be able to keep their two first rounders.
Should the Browns focus on getting Kirk Cousins instead of going after one of the young guys in the draft?
