Cleveland Browns Unlikely To Trade for Kirk Cousins

The Clevleland Browns are hurting for a quarterback, but the team does not seem to be looking in the direction of Washington for a new quarterback. It doesn’t seem that Washington Redskins backup QB Kirk Cousins will be high on their priority list going into the offseason.

Cousins was mentioned as a possibility for the team because of his ties with new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan being hired onto the team.

According to Mary Kay Cabot, the possibility of the Browns trading for Cousins is remote.

The Browns will likely be looking toward the draft to get their quarterback instead. Johnny Manziel has been high on their list for a while. If Manziel doesn’t drop to the Browns, then they still should have plenty of other quarterbacks to choose from. Blake Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater could be available when their turn comes up in the draft.

Brian Hoyer will be returning from his injury and will be the backup to one of the youngsters on the roster.
