Osi Umenyiora Asked To Take Pay Cut From Falcons

Osi Umenyiora signed on with the Atlanta Falcons last season on a two-year contract and he is already getting asked to take a reduction in pay on his second year of his deal.

We will hate to wait and see how that resolves itself. Osi started 13 games with the Falcons and finished the season with 7.5 sacks on the year. Interesting that they would be asking him to take a smaller deal.

Umenyiora counts $4.75M against the cap and the team could save $3.5M if they were to release him off of the roster. The Falcons want to keep him around, but they are trying to free up some space under the cap in order to make more moves.

We will see what Osi does. Will he take the pay reduction or will he just walk?
