Oakland Raiders free agent running back Darren McFadden makes a lot of sense with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals will be looking to upgrade their running game and as Ryan Lowes mentions, Hue Jackson will be running the offense this season and McFadden had one of his best seasons with Jackson running the Raiders.
Jackson’s presence as the offensive coordinator should open up a few things for the Bengals offense and McFadden could be a good fit for the team. He wouldn’t have to carry the load in the running game and could share some snaps with Giovani Bernard and BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
If McFadden is looking for more playing time, the Bengals might not be the location that he would want to land. He would have to split some carries out in Cincy. I don’t know how many teams would trust McFadden to be the main guy though. His injury history is too long and not many teams would want to put their trust in him.
Free agency begins on Tuesday, so we will see where McFadden gets interest.
