The Chicago Bears are releasing running back Michael Bush, per Pro Football Talk. Bush is a veteran running back that is 29 years old and still might have some gas left in the tank. He didn’t get many opportunities to play with the Bears, with Matt Forte getting the lion’s share of the snaps for the Bears offense.
Bush had a couple more seasons left on his deal, but the team will be saying $1.85 million in cap space with his release. Bush could get an opportunity to be a backup for another team.
Last season, Bush finished with 197 yards on 63 carries. He didn’t get many opportunities to carry the ball and he should be looking to get a few more opportunities with another team. He spent a couple of season with the Bears and his production continually decreased with them.
Will some team give Bush an opportunity to get some carries or will he get phased out of the league while teams look for younger talent.
