Josh McCown’s return to the Chicago Bears seems to be a remote possibility at this point in time, per Jerry Colangelo.
McCown should have different opportunities to become a starter around the league and he should jump on those opportunities. He showed that he could be a solid starter in the league in his time filling in for Jay Cutler with the Bears.
With the Bears, McCown would have to sit behind Cutler and wait for an opportunity to arise as the starter, but he would have to sit behind him. He could land a job on another franchise and get that chance as the starter.
There are opportunities that could arise with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets and the Oakland Raiders. We will see where McCown lands in free agency. If he can get the money and get the opportunity to be the starter, then why wouldn’t he dip out of Chicago. Everyone is looking for that opportunity and his chance has finally come.
