Julian Edelman Have Not Reached Deal, Will Test Free Agency

Julian Edelman and the New England Patriots were unable to come to an agreement and Edelman will get to test the waters in free agency, per Adam Schefter. The Patriots had a 3-year deal on the table and they wanted him to take it before the start of free agency, but he is going to move in a different direction.

What will the Patriots do now. Could they set their eyes on Emmanuel Sanders in free agency instead? The Patriots will need that receiver to man the slot and to get open underneath for Tom Brady and the offense.

Edelman was a perfect receiver for the team, but he will be looking for a payday from another team. The possibility of him returning to the Patriots still exists, but the Patriots will be looking at other solutions since he did not re-sign with the team before the start of free agency.

Expect some teams to give Edelman a call and try to convince him to join their squad.
