Michael Johnson Agrees to 5-Year Deal with Buccaneers

For some reason the specifics of a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Michael Johnson has leaked out. Free agency period is not supposed to start until 4pm eastern time, but the specifics of a certain deal with Michael Johnson and the Bucs are available for all of us to see.

According to Josina Anderson, Johnson has agreed on a 5-year deal worth $43.75 million and $24 million of that is guaranteed. That seems to be against the rules, but we will see if there are any ramifications to that.

Lovie Smith adds to his defense with this signing. The Buccaneers already has a bunch of playmakers on the defensive side of the football and they just added another one. Smith is looking to build up that powerful defense once again.

His new piece to the puzzle should help him move forward on defense. Freeing up some extra money by getting rid of Darrelle Revis should make this signing a little easier under the cap.
