Ben Tate Visiting Cleveland Browns

Former Houston Texans RB Ben Tate is visiting the Cleveland Browns today, per NFL ATL. The Cleveland Browns are in desperate need for a running game. They traded away Trent Richardson last season for a first round draft pick and really didn’t have anyone else on the roster to step in at the position.

Tate would finally get his chance to become a starter in the league. He has been behind Arian Foster in Houston for a while and has had to sit behind him. He wanted the opportunity to become a starter somewhere else and Cleveland would be one of the few spots that he could become the starter.

The Oakland Raiders and the Tennessee Titans are the other openings that Tate could come in and start at. Both of those teams could make their pitch to Tate as well.

The Browns will get the first shot at signing Tate and it sounds like they are the leading candidates to land him. They need him the most and he would be good for their backfield.
