James Jones Signs 3-Year Deal with Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have added some talent on offense by signing former Green Bay Packers WR James Jones to a contract, per Adam Schefter. Jones was the top wide receiver available and the Raiders needed some help at the position. Jones should give the team a nice threat out wide on offense.

Jones signed to a 3-year deal. Reggie McKenzie brings over the former Packers player to the bay.

The team will need to find someone to get him the football. Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin were the team’s starters at quarterback last season, but there should be new competition for the starting job again in training camp.

Teddy Bridgewater could be an option for the Raiders in the draft or Matt Schaub‘s name has also been mentioned.

Jones will be a nice threat on offense and will give the team a veteran that can find the open space and stretch the field. He will be good for Rob Streater and Denarius Moore on the Raiders offense.

This is great. I didn’t even realize that we were a potential landing spot for him.

Reggie McKenzie keeps adding pieces to the puzzle. The Raiders have already had a solid off season and Reggie isn’t done yet. The Raiders could end up being a surprise team next season. Nobody thought the 2-14 Chiefs would rebound and make the playoffs. Now it’s the Raiders’ turn.

James Jones is going to open things up for everybody around him. Streater, Moore, and the rest of the young receiving corpse are going to benefit tremendously from his presence.

Now lets go get a QB not named Matt Schaub or Mark Sanchez. I’d rather roll with Pryor/McGloin than those two.

Get Schaub and watch him pull a Gannon, draft Clowny. Watkins, or Mack and we set for a Super Bowl run or two!!!!

I’m impressed with Reggie today in getting a great wide receiver. Kudos…

Holy crap this is awesome!! Bravo RM, bravo. I had no idea he was even on our radar so that makes it more badass.

This is a good signing for Oakland I think. The WR free agent ranks are really growing thin, with the Panthers in desperate need. As a Bucs fan, I hope they don’t find much; they need three. Of course, the Bucs need their own slot receiver, and I’m hoping they can move quickly enough maybe to grab Lance Moore or Robert Meachem. The problem is neither of those guys probably want to be #2 or #3 behind Vincent Jackson, and maybe Mike Williams (who’s got his own doghouse to get out of). The Bucs could always re-sign Tiquan Underwood. On second thought, lets not.

Hella stoked. Good signing. Took all of us by surprise.
