Cam Newton Scheduled For Ankle Surgery on Wednesday

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton will undergo an ankle surgery on Wednesday that could keep him sidelined for 4 months, per Ian Rapoport. He is expected to be ready for training camp though and the team will need him to carry the offense.

The Panthers offense has taken a big hit this offseason already. All of their receivers have left in free agency or have been released off of the roster and now the franchise quarterback will be slowed from an ankle surgery.

Newton is one of the best in the game, but we will see how good he is without any skill players on the roster. The Panthers will hit the draft hard for receivers, but the team could use some experience at the position. They have looked to bring in a few receivers through free agency, but they still are left without any veterans on the roster.

Cam is going to need some help on offense. Cam is going to need someone to catch his passes.
