Bears Would Panic If Aaron Donald Is Selected Before Their Pick

According to Todd McShay, the Chicago Bears are targeting Aaron Donald with their first selection in the NFL draft. If Donald were to be taken before the Bears selected, there would be “panic” in the Bears war room. PANIC.

If anyone wants to select Aaron Donald, they will have to jump in front of the Bears in order to make that happen. The Bears have the 14th selection in the draft and have a good shot at taking Donald with that selection, but they are not doing a good job of hiding their hand. If the Bears truly want to get in on the action for Donald, they should keep that hand a little closer to the chest, because everyone is trying to peek in and they are showing it off to everyone.

Donald is the top defensive tackle in the draft and the drop off in talent after Donald is significant. He is a playmaker in the middle of the defensive line and he would give the Bears a ridiculous front.

What a stupid headline. The Bears would ‘panic’ if Arron Donald was picked ahead of them? Are you kidding? I think that is the most ridiculous thing Todd McShay has ever said. After the many excellent Bear free agency signings, Phil Emery will probably draft a FS or CB with his first pick. Guys like CB Gilbert or S Ha Ha hyphen Dix. I figure Emery will go for a DT in the second or third round. Michael Anthony maybe?

The dropoff in talent from Donald is Timmy Jernigan who dominated a good stretch of the national championship. Forgive me if I don’t tremble at the doomsday scenario laid out by Todd Mc-Second String-Shay.

No panic, there are so many ways they can go. They can get a Safety or CB. I would trade back to get more picks, or they can trade up from the second round, try to get two first round picks. Get two starters on defense to win now. So many way no need to panic if Donald is gone.

Trade Cutler and Marshall for the Texans entire draft!!!! I am a fan of both, but the Bears would be in the Super bowl…

The Bears on paper are way better than last year. If Lewan is available, or if Matthews slips I say draft a tackle. The secondary is littered with talent in this draft. They also need a center. I wouldn’t be surprised if the bears shocked everyone and went Offense with the first pick.

I heard Donald doesn’t want to be a Bear. Forget him! He is not worthy!

that was an April Fools joke.

If Donald is on the board at the Bears’ selection but they also have the option of trading back, they would trade back without a second thought. If they could trade back, draft Fuller or Verrett later in the 1st, and also pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick, I don’t exactly see them in a “panic” to draft Donald.

Who had the Bears taking McClellin in 2012? Long last year?

If the Bears are enamored with Donald, you would have heard nothing about him in the media. They run an extremely tight ship.

  • Kevin Hill

trade up to get him settled, they need this donald for a fearsome 4 some pressure pressure pressure

Todd McShay hasn’t accurately mocked the Bears first round pick in the last 10 years. What all of a sudden makes him an expert this year?
