Clevleland Browns Match Offer Sheet on Alex Mack

The Cleveland Browns are matching the offer sheet that was given to C Alex Mack by the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Jay Glazer. The Jaguars did what they could in order to bring in the Pro Bowl center onto their roster, but the Browns had the resources in order to prevent him from leaving.

Mack signed the offer sheet with the Jaguars yesterday and the Browns had 5 days in order to match the offer. The Browns did not hesitate to match the offer and found a way to keep the center on their roster.

Mack will again head the offensive line going into the season, but the Browns will need to find the quarterback that will be going under center. Will they use their top draft pick to find that guy or will they wait in order to make that selection? We will know the answer to that question in less than a month.

The Jaguars will need to find someone else to snap that football to their mystery quarterback.

Great move by Jacksonville to force the Browns into resigning Mack. Mack is going to bitch and complain that CLE signs a QB, this opens up more options for Jacksonville to make a decision on who they’ll take

Babs Baby, What the He## are you talking about?! Cleveland played Jacksonville like a fiddle! The Browns were going to have to pay him more money if he signed the transition tag! Jags made it foolishly easy to sign him and now JAX has to worry about wasting a high draft pick trying to find a center. Browns rookie front office made Jacksonville look like chumps!! LOL
