Arians Unsure if Tyrann Mathieu Will Be Ready for Camp

I think Ty is going to up to the wire

The Arizona Cardinals lost Tyrann Mathieu to a torn ACL and LCL in the middle of last season and there are question marks if he would be available for the start of the coming season. Mathieu wants to be ready for training camp, but his coach has a different idea on his status for the start of the year:

“I think Ty is going to up to the wire,” Arians said, via Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. “I still anticipate him on PUP, but he refuses to believe it. That’s a good thing.”

It is going to take some time to fully recover from the injury. Mathieu will be a nice impact player when he returns from injury, but it will take some time for him to get back to full speed for the NFL. There is still plenty of time from now until the start of the season, but there is still a lot of work that has to get done. We will see how he looks when training camp opens up later in the year.
