There has been a lot of speculation on the Atlanta Falcons moving up in the NFL Draft to take the first pick from the Houston Texans in order to select Jadeveon Clowney. Ed Werder believes that it would likely cost the Falcons thier first round pick this year, a second round selection, another selection later in the draft this season, plus next year’s number 1 draft choice.
That is a big time move for the Falcons to move up and select that pass rusher that they want. They are not shy to make that move though. Is it worth it for the Falcons to make that move?
It would be a sweet deal for the Houston Texans to pick up some talent in the draft. They would have a ton of selections in the draft and would have a pair of first round draft picks next season. They wouldn’t have Jadeveon Clowney on their roster, but they could select their quarterback in the first round with the Falcons pick.
The Falcons would have to give up a lot in order to move up and this draft is deep with talent. Are they willing to pass on a lot of the other talent in this draft to get their guy? The rumors around the league seem to believe that they are.
We have a couple more weeks to see if this move is a reality.
