Chicago Bears WR Josh Morgan was arrested early Sunday morning for a misdemeanor assault charge. Morgan told NBC News 4 that he believes that he is innocent of any wrongdoing:
“I have always been a stand up guy in the community,” Morgan said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me before.”
“I didn’t touch him. I didn’t anything. This is crazy. I’m not worried about nothing.”
Morgan signed a one-year deal with the Bears this offseason and was hoping to compete for the role in the slot with the team. We will have to see how the trial goes for Morgan, but currently there are not many details on the incident.
Morgan has spent 6 seasons in the league, splitting time with the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins. He has not seen a snap with the Chicago Bears franchise yet, but it seems that his career with the Bears is off to a little rocky start.
