Dallas Cowboys DE Anthony Spencer is returning from microfracture surgery and will be back on the field soon. He is skipping all of the OTAs at this time while he is recovering, but he expects to be ready in another month:
“It’s getting there,” Spencer said, via ESPNDallas.com. “I’ve probably got another month or so. When I had the surgery, they said it was a six- to eight-month recovery. I’m in the five- to seven-month range now. I just need to continue to get it stronger and stronger.”
He is getting some work in at the moment, but it is still a process. He hopes to be ready for training camp and he can help the Cowboys defense during the regular season. He was signed to a one-year deal in the offseason, so he will be looking to prove his worth to the staff and to the teams around the league. His history of injuries will be a concern for the Cowboys during the season, but his progress is good at the moment and he should be back fairly soon.
