Atlanta Falcons Pick Up Option on Julio Jones

In am unsurprising move, the Atlanta Falcons have exercised the 5th year option on WR Julio Jones. Why wouldn’t the team want to keep him around for another year?

When healthy, Jones is one of the best receivers in the game. He stretches the field and makes spectacular plays on the regular.

Last season, he was only able to appear in 5 games and it was a huge loss for the Atlanta Falcons offense. The team had all kinds of issues, but missing one of their top playmakers on offense was one of the things that they struggled to overcome.

Jones is expected to be back and making the highlight reels all over again this season. He is still working his way back from the foot injury, but should be ready to go soon.

The team picked up the option on Jones and will likely work on getting him locked in to a long-term deal at some point. He is too valuable for the team to lose.
