The Cleveland Browns have reached a deal with QB Tyler Thigpen after a workout with the team, per Jason LaCanfora. The team also worked out Vince Young during the work outs and decided to sign him to a contract as well. Both of the quarterbacks will compete for a roster spot during training camp and the preseason.
Young was out of the league last season, but he tried to catch on with the Green Bay Packers during the preseason. He wasn’t able to make it out of the preseason, but he will get another opportunity this year to catch on with the Browns.
Thigpen last played with the Buffalo Bills a couple of seasons ago and he played in 4 games with them that season. He wasn’t on a roster last season and he will be fighting for a roster spot with the Browns this offseason.
Both quarterbacks will be competing for the backup role on the roster behind Brian Hoyer and anyone else they decide to bring in through the NFL Draft.
