After his departure from the Minnesota Vikings, DT Kevin Williams has since been testing the free agency market. Williams, who had a brief visit with the New York Giants earlier this month, did not sign and still remains a free agent. According to NFL.com writer Chris Wesseling, Williams was said to have visited the Seattle Seahawks this past Monday. Wesseling writes:
It should be of no surprise that Seattle is entertaining another former Minnesota Viking. If Williams signs, he will join Tavarius Jackson, Heath Farwell, Percy Harvin, and Sidney Rice who jumped ship from Minnesota to Seattle.
Williams, 33, will certainly fill voids on Seattle’s defensive line. This offseason, DT Red Bryant, DE Chris Clemons, and DT Clinton McDonald were all released.
In 2013, Williams recorded 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The six-time Pro-Bowler may be past his prime, but could be quite useful as a rotational defensive lineman.
