Here is the analysis on the selection:

The Cincinnati Bengals are aging in the secondary, and Leon Hall is coming off of another major injury. With Dre Kirkpatrick still not ready for primetime, a cornerback is the natural pick here. Dennard is our top rated corner. He’s physical at the line, and more of a fluid athlete than he gets credit for at times. We’re thrilled to get him at this point.
