  • Sherman updated his fans on his blog and also had this note to share:

"I am blessed to announce that the Seattle Seahawks and I have reached an agreement on a contract extension. The goal has always been to stay in Seattle and continue to play for the Seahawks. With this chapter closed, I can continue to focus on what is important – defending our Super Bowl Championship and being the best cornerback in the NFL.”"

The Seahawks have locked down the top players in their secondary for a few seasons. They locked down safety Earl Thomas earlier in the offseason and now they locked in Richard Sherman. The team should be set in the secondary for some time and can focus on getting another championship down the road with the strong defense.
