2014 NFL Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers select Ryan Shazier

The Steelers have always prided themselves with their great defenses and they add another talent to their stout group of linebackers. With the 15th pick in the draft, the Steelers select Ryan Shazier out of Ohio State.

Shazier is a strong, but agile linebacker that thrived under Urban Meyer’s system. Shazier is able to plug up the running lanes, and he also has the ability to drop back into coverage and deflect passes. He will fit in well with the physical, but smart defense that Pittsburgh always plays. Shazier has the potential to be one of the better linebackers on the Steelers’ roster. He will have to learn under some of the more established players on defense, but in time he will be a solid pick here for the Steelers at 15.
