The Miami Dolphins biggest position of need is definitely at offensive tackle, but they could also draft a standout linebacker like C.J. Mosley or fast-riser Ryan Shazier with the 19th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. If none of the top four tackles are available at 19, then the Dolphins aren’t expected to reach for one at 19, especially since their top guy at OT outside of the big four prospects at the position appears to be Tennessee’s Ja’Wuan James. The Dolphins are prime candidates to trade down in this year’s draft if none of the top tackles are available, and news of reported trade talks with other teams continues to swirl.

More from Miami Dolphins

According to the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero, the Dolphins have engaged in trade talks with the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, and Philadelphia Eagles. The Browns are the least surprising team on that list due to their strong interest in Teddy Bridgewater, but the Saints are an interesting trade candidate for the Dolphins.  I would also be surprised if the Eagles trade up, but I think they would love to move up to 19 if Odell Beckham Jr. manages to slip past the New York Jets at 18 (I doubt that happens). The 49ers are an aggressive team on draft day, so they are definitely potential suitors to keep an eye on.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dolphins receive trade interest from the Kansas City Chiefs or Denver Broncos, because the Broncos need a marquee LB like Mosley or Shazier, while the Chiefs have been mentioned in a draft-day trade rumor. If they would like to move up in front of the Green Bay Packers, then the Dolphins at 19 are their best option.
