The Minnesota Vikings tried to move up in the draft earlier in order to take Johnny Manziel, but lost out to the Cleveland Browns for his services. Instead, the Vikings couldn’t wait till the next round to make their selection and traded with the Seattle Seahawks to move in front of the Houston Texans and took Teddy Bridgewater with the selection.

There was a time when Bridgewater was expected to be the top selection in the draft, but he started to slide down the draft after a tough Pro Day in front of a bunch of scouts. After that slide, he almost fell out of the first round, but the Vikings could not risk him falling to the Texans in the next round and made the move up.

Bridgewater was thought of as the most NFL ready quarterback and will get to work with Norv Turner on offense. He will also have some nice weapons on offense. Adrian Peterson will run the ball for him and Greg Jennings and Cordarelle Patterson will be receiving threats. He has a nice roster around him.
