Kansas City Chiefs Select CB Phillip Gaines

The Kansas City Chiefs continued the theme of defense with their selection in the 3rd round and added CB Phillip Gaines with their selection. In the first round of the draft, the Chiefs added pass rusher Dee Ford and now they added Gaines. The team has to deal with Philip Rivers and Peyton Manning twice per season and need to find a way to slow down those passing attacks.

The addition of the last couple of players should give them more help in slowing down the passing attacks. Gaines will compete for playing time at the corner spot and Dee Ford should force quarterbacks to get rid of the football quicker than they would like.

The Chiefs have made some nice additions to their defense with their 2 selections in the NFL Draft. The defense just got better.
