Oakland Raiders Select Derek Carr

The Oakland Raiders used their choice in the 2nd round to add Fresno State QB Derek Carr onto their roster. It is a great move by the Raiders to take him in the 2nd round. He was expected to be taken in the first round and he slid to the 2nd round and will be the team’s quarterback of the future. He will not be expected to take hold of the team out of the gate and will get to sit and learn from Matt Schaub.

If Schaub were to falter though, Carr could step in and start. If he does falter, the fans will get a little anxious and call for the young quarterback to come in and play some games.

The team has made a nice move for the future and can rely on Carr to be that starter next year or in a couple of years.
