2014 NFL Draft: Patriots Select RB James White in 4th Round

With No. 130 overall, the New England Patriots selected RB James White out of the University of Wisconsin.

With Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden all in the last year of their respective contracts, New England needed to come out of this draft with a running back.

Coming from a pro-style running system, White can do it all: rush, pass and pass protect. He has a low-to-the-ground build with thick legs and depends on his great field vision for success on the ground. He’s not a burner, but has quick feet and makes decisive cuts.

Should be a nice piece in what is expected to be a running-back-by-committee approach in 2014.
