2014 NFL Draft: Patriots Select OT Cameron Fleming in 4th Round

With No. 140 in the 2014 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected offensive tackle Cameron Fleming out of Stanford.

After taking DT Dominique Easley in the first round and C Bryan Stork in the fourth round, it is clear that the Patriots have their heart set on beefing up the trenches.

Fleming is a huge guy  at 6’5″, 325 pounds. He is an imposing tackle who has outstanding power at the point of attack and has the long arms you look for in an NFL tackle.

This pick gives the Patriots a lot of flexibility with their offensive line. They could kick Fleming inside to give them some more beef and athleticism inside, or they could opt to use him as their “swing” tackle and move Marcus Cannon inside.

This is a nice value pick for the Patriots as most expected Fleming to go in the third round.

Keeping Tom Brady upright is paramount and the Patriots seem to fully endorse this idea.
