Vince Young Released By Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns added their new quarterback on the roster and no longer needed the services of Vince Young on the team. The team decided to sign Young onto the roster after a workout a few weeks ago, but his time on the roster did not last long. He was released today. After drafting Johnny Manziel in the first round, the team doesn’t have a need for the veteran on the roster any longer.

Manziel and Brian Hoyer will likely compete for the starting job and will be 1 and 2 on the roster. Young would have been battling for the 3rd quarterback spot on the roster, which usually is held for a young player that the team is working to develop.

Young will have to work on catching a roster spot with some other team now. He has struggled to catch on with a roster the last couple of seasons and will be looking for his newest opportunity after the Browns have cut him loose. His opportunities are running dry though.
