The San Frnacisco 49ers added Chris Borland to their linebacking group through the NFL draft and he will get the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the game with Patrick Willis and Navorro Bowman on the roster.

"“I’m very much an admirer of the way those guys play the game,” Borland said. “Bowman was at Penn State while I was at Wisconsin, so I obviously looked up to him as a young player in the (Big Ten) Conference. Then we’ve gotten a little bit of exposure to those guys and that defense when we had a switch to 3-4. We watched some of their film. We actually implemented a few things the Niners do on defense. So they’re two of the best in the league and I’m looking forward to learning from them.” – CSN Bay Area"

In Borland’s first season, he could compete for a lot of playing time to start out the year. With Bowman recovering from his injury, the team will take their time to get him back onto the field and will buy some time with someone else flying around and making plays.

The team is hoping that Borland could be one of those guys flying around. He has a great supporting cast on defense and could make an immediate impact for the defense.

The 49ers did an excellent job of picking up talent for the team through the draft and helped stack up the roster more for the upcoming year. Borland will be one of the players that will be contributing at the start of the year.
