Brandon Marshall deal done. Alshon Jeffery up next?

The Chicago Bears paid their top wide receiver Brandon Marshall top dollar in order to keep him around for another 3 seasons and that means that the team will put their attention toward Alshon Jeffery and his new contract. The combination of Marshall and Jeffery on offense has been huge for Marc Trestman and the offense.

If Marshall is worth around $10 million per season at the age of 30, what will the team be looking to pay their 24-year old superstar? Jeffery stepped up in his sophomore season to catch 89 balls for 1421 yards.

Jeffery is the team’s future. The team can’t afford to let him walk in free agency when his time comes. He has to know that his big payday will be coming soon. Marshall has opened the door for Jeffery. That is the way that the vets are supposed to welcome the young guns into the league. Marshall just opened up a nice bank account for the young man.
