Detroit Lions offense not so great in first OTA

The Detroit Lions wrapped up their first OTAs in front of the reporters and it was the defense that impressed, while the offense had their issues. They didn’t look great, but they will play fast, according to Dave Birkett.

With the new weapons that was brought over to Detroit, the offensive side of the football is the side that is expected to produce and have a little boost from the additions on the roster.

Calvin Johnson is the best receiver on the planet. Teams will need to respect the other options on the field and it should free up Johnson more to make some plays down the field. Stafford just needs to hit him.

Golden Tate and Eric Ebron are new pieces on the roster that should help spread the football around.

After the first day of OTAs, the offense struggled a bit. They should get back up to speed at some time. This was just the first meeting for the team and there is plenty of time for the offense to get on the right track.
