Tennessee Titans backup QB Charlie Whitehurst wanted to wear the number 6 again this season, but he was unable to make that happen. His attempt to get the number 6 was a challenge with the punter Brett Kern on the squad to an arm wrestling match. Whitehurst ended up losing and is now stuck with the number 12.
I feel that Charlie has made some nice money in his time in the league. He has been backing up Philip Rivers for some time and picked up a nice contact with the Seattle Seahawks during his time there. He also signed a nice deal to join the Titans. I feel that he would have the dough to buy the number off of Kern. I guess he would have rather challenged Kern for the number by an arm wrestling match instead. That just didn’t work out the way that he would have liked.
This might be the most action that Charlie has seen in some time. He has spent the last couple of seasons holding onto a clipboard and watching Philip Rivers make plays.
