Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington suspended for 2014 season

Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington is facing a suspension for the entire 2014 season. Last season, he was suspended for 4 games for violating the NFL policy and program for substances of abuse. It sounds like he has violated that same policy again and that is why he will be facing the year-long suspension. Clevleland Browns WR Josh Gordon is facing the same suspension going into the season.

I don’t understand how the players get caught up in this situation. Washington is a promising player, but can’t get out of his own way. A suspension for a whole season will set him back and hopefully he will learn his lesson, but 4 games wasn’t enough to teach him in the first place. Now he has to sit out the entire year! Will that be enough to teach him.

The Cardinals will be without their linebacker and will have to look in a different direction on defense. I guess he can continue his offseason vacation for a little longer now.
